Featured Customer: TechnoChic

TechnoChic is the latest in our line of featured customer posts. TechnoChic DIY tech-craft kits are fun-and-easy craft projects with a high-tech twist. Natasha, the owner of TechnoChic, has blended together the perfect amount of tech and crafting to get the creative juices flowing for kids. Each TechnoChic kit features a unique paper craft design plus all the tools necessary to build an electronic paper circuit. When asked what inspired her with this fun idea, Natasha says, “Our goal is to invite crafters into the world of DIY electronics and to spread the possibilities of what can be created with a basic knowledge of electricity.”

Natasha was kind enough to send us samples of her kits for us to assemble, and who would turn down an afternoon of crafting? (Not us!)

We started with the light-up card and flower kits (pictured below):

We definitely had some fun dumping out all the materials and diving into this step-by-step, simple-to-follow puzzle (Natasha’s video tutorials definitely made this easy).

We think they turned out pretty good. What do you think?

Natasha is also in the process of launching an entirely new line of DIY tech crafts – Light-Up Bow Ties! We were lucky enough to get to sample these as well (which are debuting right now on Kickstarter).

Tadaa! Pretty snazzy!

Overall we give this project a 10/10 for being a fun creative party activity for kids. We recommend heading over to her Kickstarter project if you have time and taking a quick look at her Bow Tie project. Great job, Natasha, and thanks for being a customer!

We were also able to do a quick interview with Natasha as well. Here is a little Q&A that we had with her:

What makes your product unique?

We are focused on spreading the DIY electronics movement to the arts & crafts and gifts markets – with style! Incorporating electronics and engineering principals into crafts (where most women fall in love with making things) could spark a major shift in balancing the gender gap in STEAM fields. There need to be more “on-ramps” to careers in STEAM, and TechnoChic kits spark curiosities that can last a lifetime.

How do you package your products and what ClearBags™ products do you use?

TechnoChic products use ClearBags as an exterior bag for our greeting card kits, and smaller interior bags for the electronic components of all our kits.

Where do you sell your product?

I debut new products on Kickstarter.com – our next product is live right now  – and the whole line is available on our website!

How long have you been working with ClearBags™ and how does ClearBags™ help you succeed?

I’ve been using ClearBags since my first Kickstarter in 2015. I love that there are a large variety of bags – perfect size for my cards, and multiple weights to choose from. I feel confident that I can keep using ClearBags as I expand my product line.

What one piece of packaging advice would you give to other business owners?

Don’t forget to put your social media information on your packaging! If a customer has a great experience or wants to share your product, you want your social media account names to be easy to find!

Sounds, great! How can people connect with you?
