Tell us a little about your company:
Coming from a long line of family cooks and bakers, good food has been a crucial part of my life. She learned at a young age from both her grandmother and mother who were deemed the best bakers in their community. I have a Bachelor of Arts Degree from the International Academy of Design and Technology in Chicago. I later enrolled in the De La Patisserie program at the French Pastry School of Chicago one of the most prestigious pastry schools in the world, where I was trained by world champion pastry chefs. During school I interned at Panna Dolce, Sarah’s Candies & Pastries and Flirty Cupcakes. Shortly after graduation I began working as a baker for Nordstrom Cafe, then finally setting my sights on starting my own business, and Sweet Nouveau was born! Sweet Nouveau specializes in artisan confections, chocolates, cookies and brownies. Our products are made in small batches to ensure freshness. We pride ourselves in using ingredients of the highest quality like, real cream, Madagascar vanilla, European butter and Guittard chocolate.
What makes your product unique?
What makes our products so unique is that we like to create unique flavors for each of our confections. Each of our products are handmade from beginning to the end, from cutting to wrapping each piece and packaging. It’s all done by hand.
How do you package your products and what ClearBags™ products do you use?
We started using Clear Bag products 5 years ago when we were looking for a packaging company that had items that speaks to our brand. We began using the kraft stand up zipper pouches, from there we wanted packaging that really shows off our product and tried out their clear boxes. This actually turned out to be exactly what we wanted. We ABSOLUTELY LOVE CLEAR BAGS! The customer service is great and they have a speedy turn around especially when you need an item quickly.
Where do you sell your product?
Sweet Nouveau sells our products online and at various markets around the Chicagoland area.
What one piece of packaging advice would you give to other business owners?
One piece of packging advice I would give to other business owners is to know your brand and make sure that your packaging represents just that. Do not be afraid to ask for samples so that you can test out the product before placing an order.
