DIY: Cookie Tower Wedding Favors
The cake doesn’t have to be the only treat at your wedding. Why not send your guests home with a tower of cookies? This DIY wedding favor is like giving each guest their own personal cookie jar. What’s not to love? Cookies are always a welcomed treat and perfect for out-of-town guests who may need a snack for later.
Supplies: Here are the suggested items you’ll need to put your cookie towers together.
- Baked cookies
- Clear boxes (We used our PLB102 which is 3 X 3 X 4)
- Confetti
- Printable tags
- Ruler
- Craft knife
- Craft board/flat cutting surface
Step 1: Find your cookie recipe
This is perhaps the most important step. Cookies! You get to decide what kind of cookies to include in your tower. Bake an assortment of cookies or stick to your tried-and-true chocolate chip recipe. How about the bride and groom’s favorite cookies? You can try something brand new or request a family recipe from your future in-laws. It’s likely they’ll be thrilled and it’s a great way to get them involved.
If you would like to bake the delicious cookies you see in our photos, see the recipes below. You can always mix things up if the flavors are not to your liking. Here they are:

Chai Spice Snickerdoodles – Jelly Toast

Step 2: Bake your cookies
So, how much should you bake? To determine just how much to bake, you’ll need to do a little math. Determine the number of guests you’ll have at your wedding and how many cookies you’d like to give each one. A shorter stack of cookies may be more reasonable for a larger number of guests. In our example, we have a stack of five cookies per box, using five different recipes.
Dust off your baking mitts. It’s time to prepare your kitchen. Gather your cookie ingredients, baking supplies, cookie sheets, cooling racks, and you’re ready for business.
This step is likely to take the most time, so plan accordingly. You may even want to set aside a whole day or even several days to bake cookies, and package the towers on a separate day. This way your cookies can cool.
Step 3: Find your packaging
Ideally, you want a package that shows off your baked cookies. A clear box works great for this purpose! The size of your box will depend on the size of your cookies and how many you will stack. Our example uses a 3″ x 3″ x 4″ box, which is high enough for a stack of five cookies. If you’ve done your math assignment, you will have a pretty good idea about how many boxes to order. You may want to order a few extra just in case you have last-minute guests. If you are doing a shorter stack, we suggest our PLB58. And if you want to go all out and do a larger stack, our FB59 would be a good choice.
Step 4: Assemble
You’ve baked your delicious cookies and have your packaging in place. Good job at resisting all those cookies, too! Assembling your towers is the next step.
An easy way to get this job done is to organize an actual assembly line. Set up your cookies in separate batches in the order that you’d like to present them and have a line of open boxes ready for filling. This way you can simply gather your stacks and just drop them in. A few helpers will make this assembly go even quicker.
Step 5: Embellish
A stack of scrumptious cookies is already looking pretty sweet, so you probably don’t need to add too much to embellish this favor. A touch of white and gold confetti in a clear box creates a festive presentation. You can always match your wedding colors for this idea as well.
