Tell us a little about your company:

We started BGood Bars in 2014, making 6 varieties of artisan chocolate energy bars. The idea came while working as a chocolatier in a local artisan chocolate shop in Joseph, OR. I wanted to make something that was beautiful and tasted good for hikers and outdoor enthusiasts headed into the Eagle Cap Wilderness. We love the name BGood, but as things go, the name was already trademarked. For this reason, we are rebranding in 2019. We will be changing the name to “JöR” which means ‘earth’ in old Norse. We want to ‘fuel jör adventure’. With the new branding, we are also launching our new “JöR River Rations” in 100% Compostable Packaging made by ClearBags.

What makes your product unique?

Our Energy bars are all handmade in small batches and dipped in Fair Trade Dark Chocolate. They taste super fresh and have a long shelf life. We use only natural “clean’ ingredients, no preservatives, no artificial colors or flavors, no artificial fertilizers or pesticides on any of our ingredients, all non-GMO and gluten-free. These things are important to us, to the environment, and to our customers. We are a member of the Good Food Foundation which supports small businesses like ours that promote sustainable, authentic and tasty foods. We recently won a Good Food Award in January 2019 for our Cranberry Hemp Bar. “JöR River Rations” are basically the same as the BGood Bar but without the outer layer of chocolate. We wanted a portable, handheld energy bar to fuel JöR adventure!

How do you package your products products and what ClearBags products do you use?

JöR River Rations are packaged in ClearBags 100% Compostable 4” x 6” kraft bags with a window.

Where do you sell your product?

We sell our products online at www.bgoodbars.com, and we currently have our energy bars in more than 70 stores in 10 States from California to New York. You can find our retail locations on our website. JöR River Rations will be available for retail by fall 2019. Currently, JöR River Rations are only sold wholesale to rafting companies.

How long have you been working with ClearBags and how do we help you succeed?

We have been working with ClearBags since 2014. Their eco-friendly packaging gives us options to offer clean, sustainable packaging on our products for our customers.

What one piece of packaging advice would you give to other business owners?

The task of finding the right type of packaging for your product can be overwhelming. ClearBags has made that process a lot easier by offering a wide variety of packaging, and options to eco-friendly and recyclable packaging that is important not only to us but to our customers. I would suggest researching samples of packaging before you decide on one type.
