Tell us a little about your company:
Cards by Dé, a Black Queer worker owned cooperative was founded by Sadé (they/she) and Azizi (any pronouns with love) in December 2018. They create stationery that reflect their values and how they see themselves in the world as partners in life and business. They dream of and fight for a world where all Black especially Black queer folks can express themselves vulnerably and authentically and they model that through their art.
What makes your product unique?
We create people centered stationery that affirms and empowers. We create art that speaks to the love, passion, and vision that we have for a liberated future. We let our art and work speak for itself.
How do you package your products and what ClearBagsⓇ products do you use?
We package all of our greeting cards with ClearBags and recently started packing our greeting card packs and journals as well with ClearBags.
Where do you sell your products?
We sell on our website at cardsbyde.com. On faire at cardsbyde.faire.com and at about 25 stores across the US and abroad.
How long have you been working with ClearBags and how does ClearBags help you succeed?
We have been working with ClearBags for about 2 years now and we love that the products are eco-friendly and support us in our mission to minimize our carbon footprint. We love how fast orders come in and the customer service is impeccable which makes our backend work really flawless and allows us to focus on other aspects of our business.
What one piece of packaging advice would you give to other business owners?
We would say learn your product and what works best for it and also for you. Think about what type of packaging you like as a customer and what you want to see out in the world. We sampled a bunch of ClearBags products before landing on the one but when we found it, we never went back and now we are able to grow our product line in ways we did not imagine because we had the opportunity to shop around and test different sizes and different types of packaging with ClearBags. Think about what makes your production process more efficient and go with that!
